Mimi Williams
Williams' "Impressed by Linoleum" is a body of work in which each piece is a short story. "While I have my own version of the story, I think people create their own story when they view the work. The prints are made entirely by hand including the printing which is done using the back of a wooden spoon to impress the image carved on the linoleum. I have been using linoleum for a few years and find it a versatile material especially when using additional collage papers."

Catherine Stack
Stack features "Growth", a series of print influenced by the outdoors, through images that are omnipresent in the natural world. "The growth and change in living things and the cyclical nature of life consistently captivates me. In growth, what lies beneath the surface will affect the surface. I assimilate the complex organization of organic form: texture, pattern, and repetition." Stack received her BFA in Printmaking from the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design in 2001. Her work has been shown in exhibitions in Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois, and Virginia.

Print Zero Studios
Print Zero Studios was started in Seattle by Jeremy Cody & Brian Lane in 2003 as a way to support the younger printmaking community. Through organizing shows at alternative spaces, multiple large scale print exchanges, and networking, we hope to expose younger printmakers work while side by side with established artists, thus strengthening this community. Print Zero Studios is based out of Seattle, WA & Laramie, WY.

WORK
The Print Exchange started as a way to collect work from a small group
of friends and it turned into an exchange & show of 31 artists. Utilizing
the online print communities, university print programs, & word of mouth,
the exchange has grown exponentially. Exchange #2 had 104 participants
which was followed up by 197 artists from 8 countries for #3.

Jeanne Dodds - "Lost Identities"
The intimate nature of family and personal portraits is betrayed by the sale of old negatives and scrapbooks in front yards, garages, and flea markets. Often, these images are nameless and provide no clues as to the original significance or identity of the people the photographs. I work with found negatives to create a speculative narrative of these individual’s lives.

By printing on old phonebook pages, fallen leaves and cloth, objects that are bound to waste and decay, I seek to illustrate the ephemeral qualities of a negative’s subject. Manipulations and multiple exposures in the finished prints are created in the enlarger as part of the darkroom process. Found text from books, scrap paper and other sources are printed with the negatives to describe my projected notions of unknown people.

Emily Gherard
The subject of my work deals directly with current events. I address social themes in my work not simply to make a statement, but to comprehend them through the process of printmaking, drawing and painting. I sift through ideas by putting them to the test as physical propositions. The result is a visual language that falls into that grey area between figuration and abstraction.

I came from a close family that moved around a lot, so I spent my childhood living throughout the United States. My teen-age years were spent in rural Eastern Washington in a landscape that continues to influence my work. I received my BFA from Rhode Island School of Design followed by my MFA in painting at University of Washington.

Roz Duavit Pasion - "Trust in the Process"
“Trust in the Process” is a show that chronicles one novice printmaker’s
experiences learning to cultivate both the creative and technical
aspects of building a body of work. The cycle of alternately enduring
and surrendering to a process rich in ambiguity, mystery and clarity
gave rise to its mirror image in print.

This collection offers a glimpse at the growing pains and the small
sweet successes one encounters as a budding Beginner.

Harlow Morgan - "Our Lady"
These captivating images from "Our Lady", Harlow's most recent body of
work, reflect the emotional complexities of lives in flux. The monotype,
the initial stage of this work, is layered with rich colors in a
multi-media approach to this narrative body of work. This visual
story-telling challenges the viewer to pause and ponder.

Harlow has exhibited extensively and has work both in private and public
collections nation-wide. She has taught print-making processes to
individuals and small groups, participated as a juror, and is the
recipient of awards and grants for her artwork as a printmaker and as a
painter.

Sonya Stockton- "Cultural Objectivity"
"Cultural Objectivity" is a group of prints about the aesthetic of the cultural object and its role in mapping our psychological realities. Under artistic scrutiny the cultural object has become a malleable icon, polymorphous and symbolic. This series of prints utilizes found objects and recognizable imagery to present objective works ready made for subjective viewing.

Sandy Nelson- "Boat Yard"
Nelson's "Boat Yard" is a series of linoleum prints inspired by work boats, fishing boats, and tug boats that are out of the water, being worked on in Ballard boat yards. The prints are based on her photographs. She found this unique opportunity to see the entire shape of a boat, a fascinating experience. She particularly enjoyed the aesthetic contrast of the boats' sizes and the apparent fragility of the blocks and props that were holding them up.
