| PRINTMAKING CLASSES |

MONOTYPE WORKSHOP
Instructor: Kevin Fletcher
$185 + $10 Supply fee - both due with registration

Kevin Fletcher has developed and refined unique imagery informed by
architectural and industrial spaces photographed in his travels within the U.S. and abroad. His monochromatic approach to monotype uses both
additive and subtractive methods with extensive use of the brayer in surprising ways.
Emphasis will be on creating dynamic images using light, clear line, shapes, textures,
and quick motions.. Check out his show at Davidson Galleries, opening 5/7.

ADVANCED ETCHING
Instructor: Anna McKee
$220+ $10 supply fee- both fees due with registration
($245 + $10 supply fee after Wednesday, May 13th, 5pm)
Dates:
Wednesdays, May 20th, 27th, June 3rd, and 10th, 6:00pm – 10:00 pm
This class will build on your beginning etching skills, working with aquatint, ball grounds, sugarlift, white soap ground and spit bite on copper plates with ferric chloride etchant. We will observe and discuss each stage to increase your ability to control the etching process. Students will learn to print multiple plates using a la poupee inking techniques and chine collé. Students will be encouraged to complete a two plate print using various methods to build a multi-colored image with a range of marks. Prerequisite: Beginning etching class or equivalent.

RELIEF
Instructor: Theresa Neinas

Dates:
Thursdays, May 21st, 28th, and June 4th from 6:00 – 10:00pm
Learn to safely use linoleum cutting tools and barrens (traditional hand printing tools) to get the results you want. This class will emphasize low toxicity methods and how to adapt this process at home, printing by hand.

LITHOGRAPHY
Instructor: Kevin Haas

Saturdays and Sundays, June 6th & 7th and June 13th & 14th,
1:00pm-5:00pm
Equally attuned to the doodler or the fastidious draftsman, polyester litho plates offer versatility and ease for the beginning or experienced printmaker.
This workshop will begin with introducing the basic processes of lithography using polyester litho plates to explore traditional techniques and collage approaches to printing.The second half of the workshop will cover color printing, focusing on registration, ink modification, and finessing inking techniques. Participants will be able to produce several black & white prints, and a color print during the workshop, and will be prepared to take on future litho challenges!

PAPER LITHOGRAPHY
Instructor: Kim Van Someren

Dates:
Thursdays, June 18 and 25, 6-10PM
Based on the “grease repels water” concept, you will layer colors and images, by inking and printing a common photocopy. Using non-toxic methods, you will create backgrounds with pattern, texture, and color.
No experience necessary.

MONOTYPE SILKSCREEN WORKSHOP
Instructor: Ken Parker
$200+ $40 supply fee- both fees due with registration
($225 + $40 supply fee after Saturday, July 11th)
$25 refund of supply fee when you return your silkscreen in same condition as received.
Dates:
Saurday and Sunday July 18th and 19th, 10:00 am – 5:00pm
This innovative,exciting medium is a 'must learn' for all printmakers. Using cold water dyes, water color, crayon etc. a vibrant creativity is transfered directly to paper via silkscreen. Whatever your style, this process will inspire , amaze and will bring about renewed enthusiasm in your work .

Discounts: (*ONE only please) $25 discount! Register for multiple classes: each additional class is discounted! $25 discount! Have a friend register with you (at full price). PLEASE INCLUDE YOUR SUPPLIES FEES IN PAYMENT!
Registration Date: Registration after dates mentioned above will incurr an additional $25 fee (as noted above). To benefit the discounted rate of $25, we must receive your registration a week prior to class start. If the class is on a weekend, the cut-off date is the Friday a week before your class.
Cancellation Policy: Due to limited class size and our desire to optimize your time with your instructor: No portion of class fee will be refunded or applied to another class if cancellation occurs less than two weeks before class starts.
Friday evenings, Free studio access: Students enrolled in the current quarter get additional studio access on Fridays, 6-10pm, starting the Friday after the first class between May 29th and June 26th. Friday evening studio access does not apply to one and two day workshops.
