Jay Lazerwitz, "Matter"- November 2002
Matter
My work is inspired by my love for the landscape, and
my sympathy to the larger environment that is both powerful
and fragile. What ties us together, and binds us to the
earth is the underlying basis for “Matter”.
This theme is a confluence of various readings of the
word “matter”- as it relates to the “physical
nature of mass”, matter as “a subject that
is being considered”, and also as “an issue
to be resolved”. The landscape represents both
growth and separation, providing a basis for relation
and linking of the individuals.
